President Uhuru Kenyatta’s political adviser Joshua Kuttuny has revealed that the Jubilee coalition was in talks with Wiper democratic party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula to bring them to the coalition ahead of the 2017 polls.

Speaking in Kalenjin dialect, Kuttuny said that they are considering forming a coalition with the two leaders so that the Jubilee coalition can win the polls with more than 80 per cent of the votes cast. “We are in talks with Kalonzo and Wetangula. They want to be in the government they are used to,” he said.

Kuttuny said that Kalonzo will be given the Speaker’s position at either the Senate or National Assembly while Wetangula will be the coalition’s Senate Majority leader.

Kuttuny said that the two leaders have learnt that Cord leader Raila Odinga will not step down for any of them to fly the coalition’s presidential flag in the 2017 polls. “We have no doubt they are coming to us. Kenyans are about to see the whole country rallying behind the President,” he said.
